CAMEL COAT STYLES: PART I

For the fall and winter the Camel coat is one of my favorite outerwear garments because of its color, structure and its versatility to be styled in multiple ways. The Camel Coat is a statement piece that projects a respectable image of competence, professionalism, sophistication and luxury; regarded as a power garment. This is part 1 of 2, to examine the stylish impact of this outwear garment on men’s fashion and why you should be added to your wardrobe.

GARMENT TRAITS - THE ACHIEVER

The Camel coat is a perfect match for “The Achiever” that projects his character through color and his traits through the visual line structure of the coat. The Camel Coats Color projects the high energy and focus of the Achiever, which is all about productivity. The arena in which the Achiever will most likely thrive is within a successful established business where the goals are set. The Achiever’s energy is drawn from their competitive nature, feeding from one victory to the other, focused on a new win. Can be a strong team leader only if everyone is on the team matches with their values.

History : Jaeger, a 1884 British owned brand with a focus on natural fibers, is credited as the creator of the camel hair coat. To date Jaeger is now a fashion brand and retailer of men’s and womenswear, owned by Marks & Spacer. Many brands have adopted the camel coat within their collections, creating different variations of cuts and structure that capture the silhouette or exaggerates it while still prioritizing the function in cool or warm climates .

Color : The color is visually charming and helps the wearer stand out, compelling onlookers to take notice and draw ( sophisticated )conclusions about the wearers personality, The warm color hue of the coat is a compliment to every complexion and creates a healthy hue to the skins undertones.

Line Design Traits : Personality Traits are embodied within a garments line design construction; the shape of the garment consists of a vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines. The Vertical Lines dominating the majority of the length of the coats design structure, presents stability , strength, and fortitude of character. The 8 Diagonal lines used to construct the design statement of the coat’s lapel, are known to represent behaviors and actions such as charisma, charm, and vigor equalling an innovative nature. The chest pocket utilizes the Horizontal Line ability to represent a restful relaxed emotional states.

Style Tips : There are several stylish applications that can be applied to this coat, with smart and professional pieces that range from scarfs, leather gloves and hats, such as the vintage fedora in the gallery picture worn by the “Southern Gents”. Flip the collar to add stylish cool points, injecting a sense of mystery to the facets of your personality.
